So this is my new blog.
I have begun my masters degree and the first thing we need to do is to set up a Critical Reflective Journal.
I think this blog will be the easiest place for now, although the website does need some updating.
This weeks task
This first week’s task was to create an avatar from objects found nearby that represent me, there had to be a story for the items or they must mean something to me.
I actually struggled at first with this task as I don’t really have very many possessions that are not tools. My first choice was obvious, when I first took a game to a convention (Play Expo), I got a souvenir, the plush Cyndaquil, and I knew I had to include my custom “Buzzard” guitar. Next, I chose something relating to gaming, the Nintendo Switch, and also something to represent my technical ability, the Raspberry pi. The rest of the objects were chosen because I enjoy them or because I have a connection to them.
I think this week’s task was mostly about getting to know the other people on the course as well. I made sure to look at everyone’s submissions and try to get a sense of their personalities. I’m really looking forward to this course and I think I’ll get on quite well with everyone.
